A 'phishing' website qqye.w16.1358.net is using QQ to wantonly spread fraud information by faking Tencent. Sources say that the phishing website has defrauded a large number of Internet users in short days. This is the first 'phishing'  crime of this year.

On the website , a row of eye-catching small penguins seem very cordial . It is clearly marked that the activity starts from January 1st to 10th and characters of 'Welcome to the official website of Tencent Grand Prix Activities' are continually shown on the screen, giving people a feeling of urgency.

Anti-virus expert Dai Guangjian says that this phishing website is produced very perfectly. It first disguises itself as the Customer Service of Tencent by setting its user name as 10000, applies to add Internet users as friends and then immediately sends fraud information to the majority of users. If users are attracted by the grand prix mentioned in the information, they would visit the website http://qqye.w16.1358.net and input checking codes according to hints. After finally clicking, detailed information about awards will be presented, including copies of the photographs of other award winners and scanned documents of notarized certificates which seem very formal and deceptive. Using 18,880 yuan and a certain brand of notebook computer as temptation, this fake website requires users to fill in detailed personal information online and then contact Customer Service staff about the exact award-receiving issue.

The word 'Phishing' is the combination of 'Fishing' and 'Phone'. Sine the hacker ancestors initially used telephones to commit crimes, 'Ph' was replaced by 'F' and in this way 'Phishing' was created with the same pronunciation as 'Fishing'.

'Phishing' attackers always use fraudulent e-mails and fake websites to engage in fraudulent activities. Fraudsters always fake themselves as well-known banks, online retailers, credit car companies and other credible brands to tempt people to leak their financial data, such as credit card numbers, account numbers and passwords and social security numbers. Among users who have contacted with such fraud information, as high as 5% of them have given response to these traps.

Anti-virus experts remind the Internet users no to rashly fill in QQ account, passwords and other information in any non-official Tencent websites in case QQ password and other information are leaked and users’ access security is threatened.
