BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese under-23 team will train with English premier league champions Chelsea in London for two weeks next month and also were promised to get more help in their preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, a top Chinese soccer official said here on Friday.

Xie Yalong, vice president of the Chinese Football Association (CFA), said that the Chinese Olympic team will begin their two-week training on February 1 in Chelsea's training ground. During the time, the London club will send their coaching and medical staff to help the Chinese side.

"Chelsea will also arrange several friendlies for us to give us more international experience," Xie said.

Xie is convinced that the Chinese youngsters, managed by Serbian Ratomir Dujkovic, will learn a lot from the training clinic. "Chinese football is in its early stage but we are hoping to make big improvement. The Beijing Olympics provide us a good chance to learn from the world's strong teams.

"Chelsea is one of the world's best clubs. They have very good resources and experience. We hope to get stronger through the two sides' cooperation."

Training in Chelsea is only part of the Chinese side's winter training plan in Europe. Dujkovic's side, consisting of 30 players, left here on Jan. 6 for their two-month Europe tour. They have played two friendlies in France including a 2-1 win over French Ligue 1 team Nice.

Chelsea also promised to give China more help in developing its soccer, although the Chinese Super League, the country's top-flight professional league, has been plagued with match fixing and other scandals.

Chelsea has stepped up their efforts to break into the Chinese market, launching an official Chinese-language website early this week.

Peter Kenyon, Chelsea's chief executive, and Paul Smith, Chelsea's group business affairs director, are in Beijing for the launching ceremony and expressed their great interest in the Chinese market.

"Breaking into the Chinese market is an important part of that vision," he said.

Kenyon also said Chelsea was hoping to send the first team on tour here next year and would also be sending coaches to China.
