Security Command Center for Beijing Olympics holds new year reception

BEIJING, Jan. 15 -- The 29th Olympic Games' Security Command Center invited foreign police liaison officers and other officials from different embassies in Beijing to a new year reception on Monday.

The guests witnessed the establishment of International Liaison Department (ILD) and the launch of Beijing Olympic Security Website as well on Monday.

Qiang Wei, chief of the 29th Olympic Security Coordination Group (OSCG), and Ma Zhenchuan, director of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and Chief Commander of the 29th Olympic Security Command Center (OSCC), attended the reception.

Qiang emphasized that the year of 2007 is crucial for the Beijing Olympic security preparation work.

All security measures will be established and the effects will be carefully examined through 26 test events, he said.
