GUILIN, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has revoked the license of a dance school which sent its teenage students to work as bar girls in nightclubs last year, the Guilin Education Bureau said on Friday.

All 170 students in the Guilin Intermediate Vocational Dance School will be transferred to other schools, said Ning Xiaobao, deputy director of the Guilin Municipal Education Bureau.

The dance school arranged for 22 girl students aged about fifteen to work in bars and nightclubs on "internships" in October last year, in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The girls were forced to fake their age, dress "in a mature way" and accompany clients to drink alcohol. Most of their earnings, which was 100 yuan per night, went into the pockets of the school and an agent it colluded with.

Ning said the school has violated the national law on non-governmental education, completely failed their educational responsibility and severely infringed the rights of the students.

The school had been ordered to return the fees it collected illegally from students.

Guilin Educational Bureau is increasing personnel to ensure local vocational schools carry out their responsibilities, and the Hangzhou authorities are inspecting its bars and entertainment venues to ensure there are no under-aged hostesses.
