U.S. agrees to resolve financial issue within 30 days

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The United States has agreed to resolve the issue of financial sanctions against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) within 30 days, said chief U.S. negotiator to the six-party talks Christopher Hill Tuesday evening.

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The six-party talks on Tuesday ended with a joint document on the first step toward the denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

Under the document, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will shut down and seal the Yongbyon nuclear facility, including the reprocessing facility and invite back IAEA personnel to conduct all necessary monitoring and verifications.

URGENT: Six parties agree on 5 working groups

BEIJING, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- The six-party talks ended Tuesday with a joint document on the first step toward the denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, with the parties agreeing to establish five working groups.

Chief envoys from host China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and Russia reconvened the talks last Thursday in Beijing.

ROK delegation official: joint document likely to be adpoted Tuesday

BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- An official with delegation of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to the six-party talks said that a joint document is likely to be adopted on Tuesday.

According to the official, who speaks only on anonymity, the negotiation on the document has "reached the final phase".
