BEIJING, Feb. 27 -- China granted its state scientific and technological awards here Tuesday to scientists and enterprises that have made remarkable progress in technological innovation.

Senior leaders Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Zeng Qinghong and Li Changchun attended the event and presented the awards.

The ceremony was jointly held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council.
