On February 25th, UK newspaper The Observer released a report on the globalization of a few select Chinese and Indian companies. It was revealed in the report that Huawei, the largest telecommunications supplier in China, has recently started to sponsor the national football team of Zimbabwe in Africa.

The report said that Huawei has started to offer sponsorship, however, it neglected to disclose the contractual details between Huawei and the Zimbabwean team.

The report also stated that Huawei is maintaining a rapid growth rate of 42% annually. Meanwhile, the company is expanding its operations worldwide and even seeks market opportunities in the unstable and war-torn continent of Africa.

Currently, there are very few reports related to this story. The authorities of Zimbabwe and company officials at Huawei have not expressed their opinions publically.
