Nippon Oil Corp., Japan's largest refiner, and trading house Mitsui & Co. signed agreements with Chinese companies that include joint oil exploration, refining and liquefied natural gas shipments.

More than 600 company executives from both nations met as part of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit this week to Japan. The countries' cooperation will help stabilize global energy security, Ma Kai, head of China's main economic planning body, said today.

``Dialogue between China and Japan will produce a lot of business opportunities,'' said Ma, who leads the National Development and Reform Commission.
