Zhang Ningning is 20 years old and is 180 centimeters tall.  She was born in Shenyang in Liaoning Province, and has made the finals of the Miss Universe 2007 competition on behalf of China in Mexico.

She is tall and slim with shiny black hair. Upon first impression, people notice her typical eastern-style small eyes and signature sweet smile.

A reporter asked her how she could win in a beauty contest where Western style beauties dominate. She answered that, "As a Chinese woman, I should perform in an easy manner to show my dignity and graciousness."

Zhang thinks that there is difference between western people and eastern people's eye on beauties. However, she indicated that it is the confidence of the contestant that matters. She also added that contests like this could help contestants bring their potential into full play.

Authorities from the southeastern Mexican state of Chiapas welcomed 86 contestants for the 2007 Miss Universe last Sunday.

The 56th annual Miss Universe competition will be held on May 28th in Mexico City.
