In anticipation of the Olympics, laborers work at a construction site for the extension of the Beijing underground system on Sunday. More than 10,000 laborers are working to finish 52 new stations and 87 km (54 miles) of tracks that will bring the total length of the subway in Beijing to 300 km (186 miles). It is expected to be finished several months before the start of the 2008 Olympic Games.
