Chinese 3rd-ranked Chen Hong advanced into the men's singles round of 16 Wednesday night at the second day of a badminton tournament held in Bangkok, the Grand Prix Thailand Open 2007.

Chen Hong defeated German player Roman Spitko 21:13, 21:18, hours after he made into the round of 32 beating Petr Koukal from Czech at a previous match on the day.

The Thailand Open takes place from Tuesday to Sunday at Bangkok' s National Stadium.
