As the capital of Hubei Province, Wuhan suffered unprecedented heavy snows since 23 January, 2008, which has led to several time airport closures. Frequent flight delays and cancellations strand thousands of festival flyers at the Wuhan Tianhe Airport. National meteorological bureau forecasts that heavy snows and rains would continue to hit the central provinces of Henan and Hubei and eastern provinces of Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui in the next 7 days.
