With the season's end around the corner, English Premier League sides have started another competition - chasing after Chinese captain Zheng Zhi of Charlton Athletic.

Sina.com reports that the Chinese playmaker is likely to meet the taste of the teams either to be promoted to the Premier League or struggling in the top division this season.

Wigan Athletic showed the greatest ambition in the transfer race, the report said. The team offered a bid for Zheng in winter, but the attempt was refused by the Charlton side.
