Shenzhen's social insurance fund management bureau will introduce a package of measures later in the year including allowing more hospitals in Guangzhou to accept Shenzhen patients covered by medical insurance. Other measures also include adding 10 medical institutions and 400 pharmaceutical stores to provide treatment and sell drugs to patients covered by social insurance, a Shenzhen Economic Daily report said Friday. Patients who suffer from 40 diseases such as skin, bone marrow, kidney or liver diseases, can be transferred to Guangzhou and their treatment costs in Guangzhou hospitals can be met by their Shenzhen insurance once they have permission from Shenzhen doctors.
