Macau Paralympians will act as "PR Ambassadors" as well as making their best performance at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games which started yesterday and will run through September 17. Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Chief Executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, wished all the best for the athletes before they left for Beijing. As members of the Macau Paralympic Delegation paraded into the National Stadium during the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing yesterday, Ho also asked that they to make friends with other athletes and promote the region to the world. The two-athlete delegation will take part in the track and field and swimming events with Kuong Sio-leng and Ao Loi-si. Kuong, an Olympic torchbearer in Macau, will compete in the women's shot put and discus, making it the second time she participates in the Paralympics.
