BEIJING, Oct 10 (Reuters) - China will work with othercentral banks to deal with the global financial crisis, and alsostrengthen efforts to boost domestic demand and safeguardgrowth, the central bank said on Friday.
China cut interest rates and lowered banks' requiredreserves on Wednesday as part of a coordinated drive by globalcentral banks to stop a free-fall in world financial markets.
It was Beijing's second rate cut in under a month to helpprop up growth, which slowed to 10.1 percent in the secondquarter from 11.9 percent in all of 2007 and has been clearlysoftening further.
"We will strengthen cooperation with international financialinstitutions and central banks to jointly combat the globalfinancial risks and crisis," Li Chao, spokesman at the People'sBank of China, was quoted by state television as saying.
