PARIS, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Chinese Commerce Minister ChenDeming said on Friday he expected China's economic growth to bebelow 10 percent in the third quarter, fuelling expectations ofa slowdown in the world's fourth-largest economy.

China is due to report its growth figure for July throughSeptember early next week and the median forecast of 15economists polled by Reuters is for Chinese gross domesticproduct to have grown 9.7 percent from a year earlier.

The economy grew by an annual 10.1 percent in the secondquarter.

"It's possible, I think it will be a little bit under thatlevel," Chen said, when asked if annual GDP growth was likely tobe below 10 percent for the third quarter.

"It will be a little bit above 9 percent," he told Reuters,adding that he was expressing his personal views.
