WASHINGTON : US President Barack Obama will hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Thursday, following sharp exchanges between the two powers over Tibet and a standoff in the South China Sea.Obama will dispense with normal protocol which sees bilateral meetings between officials of equal rank, with both sides apparently hoping frank talks will ease tensions that rattled relations early in his administration.The meeting in the White House will come against a backdrop of the deepening global economic crisis, with much of the world looking for the powerhouse economies of China and the United States to chart a road to recovery.
