     Authorities in southwestern China are investigating reports that baby girls had been forcibly taken from their families by Chinese family planning officials for eventual adoption by overseas families, a local newspaper reported Friday.     The Southern Metropolis News said authorities in Guizhou Province called a press conference on Thursday, a day after the paper broke a story that dozens of baby girls had been taken from rural families by local government officials since 2001 and transferred to an orphanage to be adopted by overseas parents.
