The Volunteer Service Team, composed of more than 1300 foreign affairs volunteers, participated in the Kick-off Ceremony on November 1. Guangzhou will hold the World Council Meeting and the Guangzhou International Sister City Meeting of the 2009 World Organization of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). The Guangzhou volunteers will serve the more than 600 representatives from over 80 countries who speak more than 12 languages, including English, Italian, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indian, North Korean and Vietnamese. At the Kick-off Ceremony, Guangzhou's Image Ambassador and Anchor Yin Jie officially took the post of Chief of the Foreign Affairs Volunteer Team.
