A number of China Telecom (NYSE: CHA, HKG: 0728) officials said Friday that they were not aware of the report that the company would market the BlackBerry handset with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) on March 1. People familiar with the issue were quoted as saying that the BlackBerry 9530 with the BES and the BIS would become available on the mainland in four offer plans charging ¥189 ($1 = ¥6.83), ¥289, ¥389 and ¥589 a month respectively and that the BlackBerry 9630 would hit the market in May. It was also said application was open to organizational users only. Testing of the BlackBerry handsets and services are underway but there was no timetable for launch, China Telecom officials told Tech.qq.com.
